Monday Edition

This is our studio site. Among lots of other things, we run Field Notes Brand,
go there right now and spend lots of money. Thanks.

Steven James Brown

For the last two years, Toronto photographer and avid reader Steven James Brown has been cutting up favorite works of literature and applying them to theme-appropriate objects such as this dressmakers' bust adorned with the text from Henry Miller's Under the Roofs of Paris.

Says Steven about the process, "Being a photographer who does not use Photoshop, the only way to do it is to cut out the words and glue them onto the object one or two words at a time. This process takes weeks, and sometimes months to complete one object. I first choose what object I want to cover, and then search for a suitable novel."

During a string of Fridays we featured a single work from a photographer, with a link to his or her online portfolio and a few words.
